I have decided to comment on a subject my friend Brenda brought up on her blog.

Borrowing a quote from Brenda’s blog referring to Judge Henry Hudson’s remarks in reference to passage of the Health Care Bill and the FCC passage of the new Internet law.

Brenda stated that “In just one month, a federal judge has ruled that the Commerce Clause cannot be stretched to cover absolutely everything the Congress wishes to do, and a chorus of limited-government voices has noisily protested the Federal Communications Commission’s attempt to assert control over the Internet.”

I agree with Brenda and the fact that she pointed out what this particular Judge said.  I agree with Judge Hudson, but it seems that those in the process of overtaking our government have deliberately ignored the courts.

Americans better get off their duffs.  There is no more time to waste.  Americans need to stop complaining and actually do more to stop the “Fast and Loose” dismantling of the US Constitution, by a bunch of “In-House” what I would refer to as, domestic Terrorists, called Congress.  While “We the People” go along and file our objections and motions in court and bring people together from across the country (Tea Party) to stand up in town squares and talk about the Constitution and our Freedoms and the purpose of making sure that they stay in place, stay in affect, for generations to come, basically doing what is our God-given right to do; the enemy, our elected officials (our doing) are moving forward at warp speed in their quest to destroy America before “We the People” can stop them.

They are succeeding and why, because while “We the People” are filing objections in court, and even winning, these pariahs are ignoring court orders, as though they have that right, and just continue on, like a child, daring a parent to “Stop me”, as they laugh out loud.  But a child does not understand what he is doing, he does not yet know “right from wrong” he is still innocent.  These elected officials (Make no mistake about it) know exactly what they are doing.  It is up to each and every American to do what ever it takes to stop them, before it is too late and believe me it is “Late”.

Late, though it is, it is never too late to try.  There is always “Hope” and as long as there is “Hope” then there is a chance to succeed.   Americans should realize by now, that nothing is a sure thing, even the Constitution, unless there are those who will stand up and are willing to fight to protect it from all those who wish to destroy it.  It is our “Destiny” to stand up and fight to keep our God-given Freedom; it is our duty.

Freedom is America’s gift to the world.  People risk dying, trying to reach the land of Freedom and equal opportunity.   No other country in the world has the Freedoms that America promises to its citizens.  Yet, at this point in history, Americans have taken those Freedoms for granted, and it has taken a very long time for many to realize that they are at the brink of losing those Freedoms.  It is time that they realize that within our own country there are those out there in the real world wanting to take those Freedoms away from us.   It is hard for Americans to believe that any American would do such a

dastardly thing, but it is their way of accumulating more Wealth, Power and yes Freedom for themselves.  Why do they think they have this right and why are they doing this?  It’s a simple reason, “Because they Can”!  No one has stopped them.   In America you have the right to accumulate Wealth and Power, but not at the expense of depriving others from doing so.   Hey, it all comes down to Money and Power.  Has anyone ever asked to see the stock portfolios of our elected officials to see how much “Insider Trading” they have done while they were in office?  If, before voting on a bill a Congressman buys stock in a company knowing if the bill is voted into law, that it will move the value of that stock in that particular company and he makes money on this investment, then I would consider that “Insider Trading”.  Has this been done?  I think it’s time to find out.  I suspect that this has been done quite often.  Of course, if this has happened it would be a faster way of getting people out of office then waiting for the next election and more damage to be done to the Constitution.

It is time for America to stand up for the gift our founding Fathers promised them.  It is time for America to stand up and defend their God-given right to protect those Freedoms.  It is time to stand up or shut up and by doing so, watch those Freedoms taken away from us.  Certainly fighting in a court of law is the right way to go about keeping our Freedom, but the evildoers are now among those in the legal system.  So, now we must gather in great numbers to voice our distain for those who try to steal away our God-given right to be Free.  It is time to replace all those who want to destroy the greatest gift of mankind, Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness

We need 10, maybe 20 or more Million people to stand up along side the “Tea Party” people and join them in trying to stop the destruction of the most powerful words written on any piece of paper in the World, the American ConstitutionWe are off to a good start, but there is “oh, so much more” that needs to be done.  Americans should never believe that one person can not make a difference, that one person can not “Change” what is wrong, because all it takes is the right person to come along and speak the truth, and others will follow.

It is a well-known fact that bills that are voted into law, seldom, if ever, get repealed.  So, my warning to those who still believe in God, Flag and Country, get up off your asses and join the rest of us, and “Stop” these self-absorbed, money and power hungry evil-doers, in Congress before they finish their job of destroying AMERICA from within.

There is no better time than the present to take a stand and do so, by joining those Americans who truly believe in Freedom and fighting for what they believe in.

What will the world do, if there is no longer the possibility of dreaming of or hoping and praying for a better life that exists somewhere on the planet when that place no longer exists, because there is no longer Freedom in America?  ss

No Change In DC

It Continuously baffles me how Americans constantly give the Democrats (more to the point, Obama) another chance.  It is also mind-boggling how we repeatedly believe that the elected officials from either House have learned their lesson, or better yet, seen the light, and will almost over night change their tune.

I remember when Obama ran for office and how the media and all those elitist Democrats raved about what a fabulous speaker Obama was.  The fact that he was reading someone else’s words, from a teleprompter, never became part of  the discussion.

My point:  Obama just spoke words.  Words that meant the world to those who listened and eventually voted for Obama, but meant nothing to him.  As for Congress, it never mattered what Obama said he would do or not do; Congress always exempts itself from the bills they pass into law.

So, when you hear that Nancy Pelosi is for some bill because it is good for the people; she is not including herself as one of the people; she is exempt.

I guess I’m going off course here a little.  You see, I don’t think anyone who is voted out of office like 60+ Democrats were, should be allowed to vote on the passage of any law, during the lame-duck session of Congress.  None of the bills passed this week should have been voted on.  Basically, Congress should have gone home for Christmas and waited until they came back to discuss the bills up for a vote and then read them out-loud on the floor, before voting on them.

Has anything changed in DC; I think not.  Are the Republicans so much better than the Democrats; I think not.  There is no logic to the fact that the Republicans claim that they need the Bush tax cuts extended for everyone, especially the rich, because it is the rich who create the jobs, do the hiring.  Well, the rich have had the Bush tax cuts for 7 years, and I haven’t seen any jobs being created nor have I seen any hiring, at least, not in America, (A bunch of CEO’s did go with Obama to Indonesia (remember the 13 day trip? It certainly wasn’t to create American jobs.

If you need verification of this fact then tell me, why did we need to extend unemployment for 13 months if the rich were doing all this job creating?  The Democrats and the Republicans talk out of both sides of their mouths.  The American people are still not connecting the dots.  When will they learn?

The Republicans could have held off until after Christmas to vote on all the bills, including the one that would shut down the Federal Government.  They could have taken a stand; but hey, the won their seats this time around, because the people believed their promise to cut spending and then they did what they always do, a complete180° turn around, and went back to their old tricks.

When will they ever learn?  ss

Aaron Sorkin’s Comments on Palin

The following is my response to Aaron Sorkin’s comments on Sarah Palin’s show about Alaska.   I am writing this post because I feel enough is enough, when it comes to blatant, mean and vindictive remarks about the Palins.  No, I would not vote for her (at least as of now, for President).  I am just really tired of seeing so many people willing to deliberately hurt someone just to get their name in print.  I wrote my comments first, Sorkin’s article is posted after mine.

Aaron Sorkin is a fabulous writer.  West Wing was a hit, but I think his comments about Sarah Palin were not only uncalled for, but also showed just what kind of a hypocrite he is.  He rips Palin apart for showing her hunting prowess on her TV show about Alaska.  I would imagine that there are a lot of women in Alaska that know how to hunt.  Sorkin even mentioned the fact that during a close up of Palin’s hands he noticed that she had had a manicure.  Evidently he doesn’t know that she has been out on book tour.  I think his criticism of her is not only immature but is certainly beneath a man of his stature.  The fact that Ms. Palin evidently has a different Political point-of-view than Sorkin was the real basis for his condescending remarks.

As far as trying to criticize her for showing joy at killing a Caribou (which she and her family do eat) I have not yet seen a man who after hunting down his prey, and killing it, has not jumped up and down for joy.  In fact, most men will recount their hunt minute by minute to anyone who will listen and the story of his hunting prowess will be repeated for years to come.  It will start with how he spotted that elk, deer, or bear as he sat there in the bush, and how he held his breath, as he slid across the snow and approached the animal so as not to scare the animal off.   Then he will continue on how he brought his rifle up to his shoulder, ever so slowly and took aim, trying not to touch the branch on the tree he was leaning against, so it wouldn’t break, and make a cracking noise which would certainly scare his prey into running off.

He will continue on how it only took one shot to the animal’s head and how it gracefully dropped to the ground.  It was a 9-point antelope and none of his  hunting buddies caught anything that weekend, but him.  Then it was a night of celebration as he and his hunting buddies all went into the small one bar town where he and other hunters repeatedly traded stories, with great embellishment, on how they shot their prey.  Of course he traded names and phone numbers of the closet taxidermist so he could hang the stuffed antelope head with all it’s antlers, on his den wall when he got home.

Of course this story will be repeated for years to come as all visitors to his home will be subjected to the tale of how he shot that deer, yes, that one, as he points to the deer head on the wall.  He continues his tale about how he over took this wild animal in the woods as it ran straight for him, ready to attack, how it was him or this wild deer and that he had no choice, but to  save himself by shooting the deer.

So, just what the hell is Sorkins point?    There isn’t one.

Here is Sorkins remark on Huffington Post.

I eat meat, chicken and fish, have shoes and furniture made of leather, and PETA is not ever going to put me on the cover of their brochure and for these reasons Palin thinks it’s hypocritical of me to find what she did heart-stoppingly disgusting. I don’t think it is, and here’s why.

Like 95% of the people I know, I don’t have a visceral (look it up) problem eating meat or wearing a belt. But like absolutely everybody I know, I don’t relish the idea of torturing animals. I don’t enjoy the fact that they’re dead and I certainly don’t want to volunteer to be the one to kill them and if I were picked to be the one to kill them in some kind of Lottery-from-Hell, I wouldn’t do a little dance of joy while I was slicing the animal apart.

I’m able to make a distinction between you and me without feeling the least bit hypocritical. I don’t watch snuff films and you make them. You weren’t killing that animal for food or shelter or even fashion, you were killing it for fun. You enjoy killing animals. I can make the distinction between the two of us but I’ve tried and tried and for the life of me, I can’t make a distinction between what you get paid to do and what Michael Vick went to prison for doing. I’m able to make the distinction with no pangs of hypocrisy even though I get happy every time one of you faux-macho shitheads accidentally shoots another one of you in the face.

So I don’t think I will save my condemnation, you phony pioneer girl. (I’m in film and television, Cruella, and there was an insert close-up of your manicure while you were roughing it in God’s country. I know exactly how many feet off camera your hair and make-up trailer was.)

And you didn’t just do it for fun and you didn’t just do it for money. That was the first moose ever murdered for political gain. You knew there’d be a protest from PETA and you knew that would be an opportunity to hate on some people, you witless bully. What a uniter you’d be — bringing the right together with the far right.

(Let me be the first to say that I abused cocaine and was arrested for it in April 2001. I want to be the first to say it so that when Palin’s Army of Arrogant Assholes, bereft of any reasonable rebuttal, write it all over the internet tomorrow they will at best be the second.)

I eat meat, there are leather chairs in my office, Sarah Palin is deranged and The Learning Channel should be ashamed of itself.

It’s Time To Take The Country Back, America!

The Time Has Indeed Come!

Governors of 35 states have already filed suit against the Federal Government for imposing unlawful burdens upon them.  It only takes 38 (of the 50) States to convene a Constitutional Convention.

This will take less than thirty seconds to read. If you agree, link to it, and/or please pass it on, which is what I’m doing now.

An idea whose time has come!

For too long we have been too complacent about the workings of Congress.  Many citizens had no idea that members of Congress could retire with the same pay after only one term, that they specifically exempted themselves from many of the laws they have passed (such as being exempt from any fear of prosecution for sexual harassment) while ordinary citizens must live under those laws.   The latest was to exempt themselves from the Healthcare Reform … in all of its forms. Somehow, that doesn’t seem logical. We do not have an elite that is above the law.  I truly don’t care if they are Democrat, Republican, Independent or whatever. The self-serving must stop.

A Constitutional Convention – this is a good way to do that. It is an idea whose time has come.  And, with the advent of modern communication, the process can be moved along with incredible speed.  There is talk out there that the “government” doesn’t care what the people think.  That is irrelevant.  It is incumbent on the population to address elected officials to the wrongs afflicted against the populace…you and me.

Think about this…   The 26th amendment (granting the right to vote for 18 year-olds) took only 3 months & 8 days to be ratified!  Why?  Simple!  The people demanded it.  That was in 1971…before computers, before e-mail, before cell phones, etc.   Of the 27 amendments to the Constitution, seven (7) took 1 year or less to become the law of the land…all because of public pressure.

I’m asking each person who reads this to link it to your blogs, so as many people as possible will see it.   If you don’t have a blog,  copy and send it out in email form,  to as many people as you can,  in turn ask each of those people to send it to their email list.

In three days, most people in The United States of America will have the message. This is one proposal that really should be passed around.

Proposed 28th Amendment to the United States Constitution:

“Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators and/or Representatives; and, Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators and/or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States .”  ss

Charlie Rangel asks for Mercy, Right!

I just read “The Capitalist” on the Internet.  I was somewhat perplexed by the lack of disapproval by the author of an article about Charlie Rangel, until I realized, I think it was an actual news piece, and not someone’s political point-of-view.  Now, I don’t know if Patricia Murphy is left, right or in the middle when it comes to her political point-of-view, but the article seemed, on just a fast read on my part, totally neutral on her part, which was refreshing but odd,  compared to what we see in the media today.   I was surprised.

That being said, I find that now, it’s seems that Charlie Rangel after walking out of the Ethics Committee hearing the other day in a disrespectful, condescending manner and then stating in interviews with the press, in a “feel sorry for me demeaner” that he feels as though he was treated unfairly by the Committee, because they wouldn’t give him more time to prepare (he had over two years)  only to come back today asking for mercy is really to much melodrama for me.

He said today that “How can 40 witnesses, 30,000 pages of transcripts, over 550 exhibits measure against my 40 years of service and commitment to this Body I love so much?”  Rangel wrote.  “I hope my four decades of service merit a sanction that is in keeping with and no greater than House precedents and also contains a drop of fairness and mercy.”  Is Mr. Rangel, delusional?

I’m sure Mr. Rangel does love his job, because he actually thinks that 4 decades of lining his wallet was serving the American people?  Just where do these elected people come from?  I’m watching what punishment this committee comes up with and I hope they take into consideration his attitude and the lack of respect that he not only has given the position he holds, but gave them when he walked out of the proceedings two days ago.

Mr. Rangel has known about the ethic rules and which ones he was accused of breaking for a few years if not from the very beginning when he thought he could take advantage of the system and not get caught.  He was willing to take the chance of not being caught and break the rules, because he thought he was above the law.  Now it’s time to pay the piper.

He has had ample time to sell his Dominican house that he rents out and doesn’t pay taxes on and/or pay the taxes he owes on it.   He has had ample time to move out of the rent-controlled apartments and I believe there are four of them that he has, not one as was stated in the Capitalist blog and pay the cost of the lost rent on them as though they were not  rent-controlled apartments, and then and only, then would he have had the right to ask for MERCY.

If this Committee does not do their job properly and remove him from office then I would say they better look out when they run for office again.  They too have a lot to lose if they don’t represent the American people in this matter.

In the real world, his constituent’s world, one only needs one witness to a crime to be found guilty.  Playing the “Feel sorry for me card” doesn’t change my mind.  He has been arrogant to his peers in Congress and to the American people.  It’s time the law caught up with him.  Those dispersing punishment better make sure they do their job ethically.    ss

Charlie Rangel “GUILTY”!

Today the Congressional Committee bringing charges against Charlie Rangel (D) in the House of Representatives convicted him on 13 charges.  Mr. Rangel well aware of the fact that the Committee had been investigating him for the last two years told them yesterday that he couldn’t afford to pay attorney fees and that he fired his attorneys just last month.  He asked for a continuance and when they said “No” he walked out of the proceedings.

This behavior on his part smacks of someone so full of himself and who truly believes he is above the law.  It was condescending and disrespectful of the people, his peers, mind you, on the committee.  It’s as though he was telling them, by walking out, that he didn’t give a damn about them or the committee, and he will do as he pleases.

This man had what I understand to be, 4 HUD apartments in NY, which he obtained under false pretences and used them illegally as his offices.  This fact alone should be a reason to kick him out of Congress.  His actions denied someone who was qualified to get a HUD home, a place to live, and the opportunity to do so.  He did this so he could look and feel like some big shot.  As someone who has been in Congress as long as he has, I find it disgusting that no one in the House ever reported the fact that he illegally owned HUD properties.  No, they looked the other way.

Now, I would say as part of his punishment on 13 counts of illegal activities, he should have to pay the monthly cost of those 4 properties in their entirety, from the day he first took possession and return that money  to the taxpayers.   I certainly hope that this Committee makes him give these properties up, and not in 6 months or a year, but within a month or two at most.  They need to get him served by sending the Sheriffs out to serve him.  Just like they do to the people he represents when they foreclose on their homes.

There is no excuse that I can think of that a US House of Representative should be allowed to skim money from the tax payers he was elected to Protect and Serve, in order to SERVE HIMSELF up a life, living in style, while many of his constituents are jobless, homeless and hungry.

I am watching to see what this Committee hands down in the form of a  punishment to this so-called “Public Servant”.  All I can say is that their jobs are on the line on this one.  The punishment had better fit the crime.  A man who cheats the people he works for needs to be fired.   ss

Juan Williams and America Have a Great Day!

Wow!  What a fantastic day for Juan Williams.  Today Juan Williams should have been out Celebrating the fact that he was fired by a company (NPR)  whose agenda is to take down our Constitutional right to “Freedom of Speech”.

How unbelievable it is that just a few words, said at the right time and in the right place, can change one’s entire life almost immediately.  In Juan’s case, I’ll bet my last dollar that he never imagined that returning a phone call, would be the one time that his whole world would come tumbling down and that there was nothing he could do about it.

Yet, within 24 hours of the news going public about his being fired from his job, he went most probably from being shocked, sick to his stomach because he was unemployed suddenly, without any inkling of what he would or could do next, to being the biggest story on TV.

What a rush it would be to find out that what happens to you is so important to so many strangers and well wishers.  Damn, how lucky can one man be?

Juan should feel ecstatic that Americans;  White, Black, Republican and Democrat alike, have, in mass, whether they agree with his Political views or not, taken his side, and in a Big Way, I might add, to defend his right to express his own opinion.

This is the first time since Obama has taken office that  there has been so many people  from both sides of the isle who have agreed on anything without being threatened, bribed or worried about taking a stand on something,  for fear that they would not be re-elected.

America has its good days and it’s bad days.  Today was a really good day, not just for Juan, but for America also.   Finally, Americans  found something  all  could agree on;  they still believe in  “Freedom of Speech”.    ss
