The Palins vs Kathy Griffin

January 6, 2011

An online article two days ago, stated that Kathy Griffin intended on continuing her dogging of the Palin family.  We all know that she does this to keep her name in the headlines.  It’s free publicity.  But at what cost to the Palin family?

I believe any really good lawyer could take care of this Kathy Griffin situation for the Palins.  I find Kathy Griffin’s remarks disgusting to say the least and let me be clear here, I find Sarah Palin a nice down to earth woman with whom middle America identifies with, but because of her Political agenda, her children for some reason (where is their dad?) have had no guidance at home.  Yes, she may have a political agenda, but she is no one I would vote for, at least at this time and only because I don’t think she is experienced enough to handle the job of President, though she has more Political experience than Obama had.  But there are others that would vote for her and thus, the Kathy Griffin attacks.

That being said, I don’t think Kathy Griffin is qualified to be a comedian or use that title as an excuse to justify her vicious Palin remarks.  I really do not believe that making fun of, in a very nasty way, mind you, another person comes anywhere close to being funny.

It seems that Griffin has decided she will leave Sarah Palin alone for a while, including passing over Bristol and is going to move on to a younger daughter in the Palin family who is only 16 years old, her name is Willow.  I understand that Willow has made some comments on Facebook in response to derogatory remarks made by a student in Alaska, about her mother.

I have read what the remarks are supposed to be and do find them inappropriate to say the least.  It also appears that Sarah’s children have not been supervised enough or been given guidance on how to respond publicly to things they hear or see about themselves or a family member,  that are basically uncalled for remarks by someone who thinks its fun to take cheap shots at others and do it on the internet, or in public so as to create a media frenzy and subsequently hurt the feelings of one of the Palin family members.

I really think that the people who watch Griffin do it to see just how far she will go before someone, anyone, a good lawyer perhaps files a complaint against her for harassment, or defamation of character

Now a 16 year old could probably have a lawyer represent her.  You see, she’s not famous in her own right; she’s not in the limelight by her own decision.  She is not a famous person, out on the road making speeches, nor is she a singer or movie star.  She’s an underage daughter of a prominent person.  She should have the right to sue Kathy Griffin for harassment, or defamation of character and win.  The key word here is “under age” and basically a “no one”.

But, the retaliatory remarks Willow makes on the internet or in public do not help her cause.  She is feeding right into the hands of those who want to make her a public topic and ultimately do her harm by publicly insulting her.  If her mother is not at  home then where is her father?   One would think she would have discussed this particular incident with one of her parents before writing about it on the internet.

Just how mean and vindictive does someone like Griffin need to be before someone shuts her up legally?  Even our service men, which fight and die for the rest of us Americans and our freedom of speech, cannot stand her.  So, why is it that the rest of us feel she has the right to be malicious?  How would you like her going after your daughter, sister or mother, I don’t think anyone would like it.  Could it be this is why no one will stand up to her for fear she may come after them next?  Let’s face it, many people have skeletons in their closet and don’t want them yelled out all over t he nightly news.

Certainly many in Middle America identify with Sarah Palin and would vote for her to be President, but identifying with someone who has the same personal and family problems as you do, is not a qualification to be President, especially when those problems are detrimental to the mental and physical well-being of ones children.   When I was growing up it was almost a sin to get pregnant when still a child and in school and it wasn’t much better for a young woman to get pregnant if she wasn’t married.   It was embarrassing for the girl when she had to finally tell her parents.    It was humiliating to the parents when the news got out among family and friends and made them look like they were doing a poor job of raising their children.  It was worse if it hit the papers and went National or International.

Today, it seems it is more acceptable, but make no mistake it is hard for the girl/young woman when it is kept in the news by those whose intentions are to only humiliate and inflict mental anguish.  It is this reason why I think Kathy Griffin should have some kind of legal action brought against her to stop her mean insults directed at the Palin children.

I know, the Palins should hire an attorney but they have not, as far as I know.  So, maybe, just maybe,  there is still a Children’s Advocate out there, a Lawyer with some sense of decency who will come forward and offer his legal services to the Palin children.  I mean at the very least there is a huge upside for a Lawyer to do so, he will get headlines, and a reputation for protecting those who can not protect themselves from the evil doers out there, and it would all be free advertising for him.  What better way  to boost ones’ career?  It would be a win/win situation for all concerned (except Griffin).

I  hate to say this, but I don’t think Sarah Palin and her husband are doing a very good job of protecting their children from persecution by those who have no conscience or morals.

Who would or could advise these girls, if Sarah made it to the White House?  Sadly,  it is evident that they were never prepared properly on how to act publicly and more importantly,  how to show respect not only for themselves, but for their mother who is a public person looking at living in the White House.

Certainly Americans of all social classes can identify with the Palin family.  Please don’t take my remarks the wrong way.  Sarah Palin’s children have had their lives turned upside down by a media that has no integrity.  The Palin children have been thrown into the lions den, and someone forgot to tell them how to defend themselves in a appropriate  manner.   Becasuse Middle America identifies with the Palins, is not a reason to put Sarah in the White House.   We want the highest of moral standards to be a part of the everyday life of our President and his family.

The President and his family  are supposed to set an example for the rest of us.  We as Americans want a President who has control not only of his/her life but also, sets boundries for his/her children.  We want to be proud of the person we elect to the highest office in the land and want him/her to deserve the respect that someone in his/her position should be given by not only Americans, but the world.  Sadly, Sarah Palin cannot change the family issues that have already been blown out of proportion by the leftist media,  but she can try to protect her children a little more, and give them some guidance on how and what they should do or say when confronted by outsiders who try to hurt them just because of their mother’s public ambitions.

Now, with all that being said, is there a “Lawyer in the House” who has the guts to come forward and give some legal advice to the Palin children and better yet, represent them?     ss

Aaron Sorkin’s Comments on Palin

December 10, 2010

The following is my response to Aaron Sorkin’s comments on Sarah Palin’s show about Alaska.   I am writing this post because I feel enough is enough, when it comes to blatant, mean and vindictive remarks about the Palins.  No, I would not vote for her (at least as of now, for President).  I am just really tired of seeing so many people willing to deliberately hurt someone just to get their name in print.  I wrote my comments first, Sorkin’s article is posted after mine.

Aaron Sorkin is a fabulous writer.  West Wing was a hit, but I think his comments about Sarah Palin were not only uncalled for, but also showed just what kind of a hypocrite he is.  He rips Palin apart for showing her hunting prowess on her TV show about Alaska.  I would imagine that there are a lot of women in Alaska that know how to hunt.  Sorkin even mentioned the fact that during a close up of Palin’s hands he noticed that she had had a manicure.  Evidently he doesn’t know that she has been out on book tour.  I think his criticism of her is not only immature but is certainly beneath a man of his stature.  The fact that Ms. Palin evidently has a different Political point-of-view than Sorkin was the real basis for his condescending remarks.

As far as trying to criticize her for showing joy at killing a Caribou (which she and her family do eat) I have not yet seen a man who after hunting down his prey, and killing it, has not jumped up and down for joy.  In fact, most men will recount their hunt minute by minute to anyone who will listen and the story of his hunting prowess will be repeated for years to come.  It will start with how he spotted that elk, deer, or bear as he sat there in the bush, and how he held his breath, as he slid across the snow and approached the animal so as not to scare the animal off.   Then he will continue on how he brought his rifle up to his shoulder, ever so slowly and took aim, trying not to touch the branch on the tree he was leaning against, so it wouldn’t break, and make a cracking noise which would certainly scare his prey into running off.

He will continue on how it only took one shot to the animal’s head and how it gracefully dropped to the ground.  It was a 9-point antelope and none of his  hunting buddies caught anything that weekend, but him.  Then it was a night of celebration as he and his hunting buddies all went into the small one bar town where he and other hunters repeatedly traded stories, with great embellishment, on how they shot their prey.  Of course he traded names and phone numbers of the closet taxidermist so he could hang the stuffed antelope head with all it’s antlers, on his den wall when he got home.

Of course this story will be repeated for years to come as all visitors to his home will be subjected to the tale of how he shot that deer, yes, that one, as he points to the deer head on the wall.  He continues his tale about how he over took this wild animal in the woods as it ran straight for him, ready to attack, how it was him or this wild deer and that he had no choice, but to  save himself by shooting the deer.

So, just what the hell is Sorkins point?    There isn’t one.

Here is Sorkins remark on Huffington Post.

I eat meat, chicken and fish, have shoes and furniture made of leather, and PETA is not ever going to put me on the cover of their brochure and for these reasons Palin thinks it’s hypocritical of me to find what she did heart-stoppingly disgusting. I don’t think it is, and here’s why.

Like 95% of the people I know, I don’t have a visceral (look it up) problem eating meat or wearing a belt. But like absolutely everybody I know, I don’t relish the idea of torturing animals. I don’t enjoy the fact that they’re dead and I certainly don’t want to volunteer to be the one to kill them and if I were picked to be the one to kill them in some kind of Lottery-from-Hell, I wouldn’t do a little dance of joy while I was slicing the animal apart.

I’m able to make a distinction between you and me without feeling the least bit hypocritical. I don’t watch snuff films and you make them. You weren’t killing that animal for food or shelter or even fashion, you were killing it for fun. You enjoy killing animals. I can make the distinction between the two of us but I’ve tried and tried and for the life of me, I can’t make a distinction between what you get paid to do and what Michael Vick went to prison for doing. I’m able to make the distinction with no pangs of hypocrisy even though I get happy every time one of you faux-macho shitheads accidentally shoots another one of you in the face.

So I don’t think I will save my condemnation, you phony pioneer girl. (I’m in film and television, Cruella, and there was an insert close-up of your manicure while you were roughing it in God’s country. I know exactly how many feet off camera your hair and make-up trailer was.)

And you didn’t just do it for fun and you didn’t just do it for money. That was the first moose ever murdered for political gain. You knew there’d be a protest from PETA and you knew that would be an opportunity to hate on some people, you witless bully. What a uniter you’d be — bringing the right together with the far right.

(Let me be the first to say that I abused cocaine and was arrested for it in April 2001. I want to be the first to say it so that when Palin’s Army of Arrogant Assholes, bereft of any reasonable rebuttal, write it all over the internet tomorrow they will at best be the second.)

I eat meat, there are leather chairs in my office, Sarah Palin is deranged and The Learning Channel should be ashamed of itself.

Republicans: Second Chances are Hard to Come By!

July 11, 2010

Congress took a week off for the 4th of July holiday and left DC without extending the unemployment benefits for millions of Americans.  Now, I grant you that in normal times I see nothing wrong with someone getting unemployment benefits while he looks for another job.  Many of the unemployed receiving benefits have been doing so for 2 years, which is normally more than enough time to find another job.

There is in my estimate close to 25 million people out of work.  The majority gave up looking for jobs a few years ago.  Those who were expecting an extension in benefits are out of luck.  The thing that is different this time, more than any time in the past is that there are no jobs, and truthfully, there are not going to be any jobs, for years to come.  Not unless we replace the incumbants in Congress, and not unless we replace the President in 2012.

Obama promised 3 million jobs if the Stimulus bill was passed.  He lied.    This was a promise he was not equipped to make.  He is not an economist, and though he is supposed to be a Harvard graduate, that doesn’t mean he is  “all knowing”.   The Congress did everything they could think of, threats, blackmail, begged, bribed and I’m sure much more to their peers, to get enough votes to pass the Stimulus bill,  against much opposition and now that they have been proven wrong and have lost 8 million jobs, instead of creating 3 million, they want to pass another Stimulus bill.

Now, there are millions of Americans, this past week who are beside themselves trying to figure out where they are going to get their next meal from, and how they will survive, without those extended benefits, that Congress didn’t feel was important enough for them to take a pass, on their week long vacation and actually sit down and do something about the job problem.  That being said, there really isn’t anything Congress can do about the job market or lack there of, because it will take the American people to turn the economy around.

So, what do these Americans do now?  Well, if they can’t get help from family, or friends, there really isn’t much they can do.  So, now what?  Well, I have been having visions (not really) of soup lines sponsored by the government, like they had during the depression.  I would think many would say that I’ve gone out of my mind that this can’t happen in America.  Well, I’ve got news for all you die hearts, it can and will unless God performs some miracle.

I have been saying for the last few years, that if there is no industry in America, if there is no manufacturing, then there will be no recovery.  All those jobs that the American corporations sent overseas, are gone and are not coming back and just in case Congress is reading this, I want them to know that part time, minimum wage jobs are NOT going to turn America around.

I am fed up with the outrageous, condescending attitude that this Congress has toward every American who basically is not in their immediate circle of campaign contributors and Lobbyists who are the bearers of financial, under the table, non taxable gifts to these Congressmen in order to secure votes that swing their way.

It’s time Americans stand up for what is right.  It’s time to remove these self-serving elected officials out of Politics and out of DC forever.   Actually, believe it or not, but the Tea Party people have gone a long way in scaring incumbent Democrats and must continue to do so, if they want to get them out of office.

It is time for the Republicans to “wake up and smell the coffee,” because they can be replaced too.  I think the Republicans think that they can just sit back and let the Tea Party people take care of the Democrats by themselves.   Well, I have news for the Republicans; if they want to take control of the House they had better help the Tea Party people and if they don’t want to go out there and campaign for those Republicans. that are running for office then the least they can do is come up with some money and hand it over to the Tea Party people.  Why do I say that?  Well, if the Tea Party people, who are not nationalized by any means, are going to win this mid-term election for America  they will need money.  Since they are doing the work of taking back the country on a shoe string budget, and when they succeed, it will most likely be the Republicans who will benefit from the win, then I say the Republicans can at least donate some money to the cause.

Obama is on a roll and has been campaigning for Reid over the weekend.  Reid is almost as bad as Pelosi and needs to be removed from office.  There needs to be lots of Republican and Tea Party ads run in Nevada, and that costs money.  The ads need to start running now, and continue until the election.  This is going to be the last chance and maybe for 6 more years to get Obama’s agenda off the docket, so to speak.  Look what he and his followers have done to this country in just a year and a half, just how much more damage can this country take?  So, just imagine what these progressives can do if they have the next 2 years to do it in and then that rolls into another 4 years.  We may find ourselves to be worse off than some of the 3rd world countries we have always gone out and helped.  When we are that bad off, which countries do you think will help us out?   Don’t worry, I’ll tell you “None”.

So, to the Republicans I say, “help the Tea Party people, help you”, get to work on this election, invite them in and work together.  There is no need to fear the Tea Party people; they want what you want; the Democrats out of D.C. and the easiest way to do that is to work together.  Do some fund raising, and start having your heavy weights go out on the campaign trail (besides Palin) and help those people who are running for office.

This mid-term election, in my opinion, will be America’s last chance to save it’s self from any further destruction.  Turning things around will not be easy, and Americans will not have the chance to try unless we replace 41 Representatives in the House, with real, patriotic Americans, you know the kind I mean, the ones that actually tell the truth and work for and not against the American people who put them  in office.  Congressmen  enjoy a fabulous life-style paid for by the blood, sweat and tears of everyday Americans.  I can assure you that there has been a lot of tears in American homes in the past few years.

The time has come for the Republicans to help the Tea Party people take back our country.  It’s time we put Americans back to work (and I don’t mean one of Obama’s half baked stimulus job programs, where Americans work for minimum wages, part-time and for a few weeks before they are returned to the status of being unemployed).  For America to survive we need real jobs, we need industry and manufacturing  jobs which we can retire from years from now.

It’s time for the real Americans to stand up and fight to keep this country “Free” because it just won’t happen by wishing it.  Second chances are hard to come by, and third chances, well, there usually aren’t any.  ss

Duh! Congress Works for Us. Let’s Act Like It!

February 23, 2010

Duh!  Congress Works for Us.   We’re the Bosses!  Let’s Start Acting Like It !

I watched the National Tea Party’s first gathering a week or two ago.  Sarah Palin was the main speaker.  She did a good job, expressing her views and the views of the Tea Party movement.  I am pleased that Americans are finally standing up and getting involved.  One thing, I want to point out though, is that the Tea Parties have been revving up for the last year, but now it’s time to go into action.  Yes, they have started, but to really effect this mid-term election, they need to Stop talking and start “Doing”.   As I understand it most Tea Party people will probably vote Republican.  If this is the case, then the Republicans might want to consider getting their act together and start working with the Tea Party people.  Let’s face it, if they don’t they will lose.  In case they have missed what is going on, the people gaining power right now is the Tea Party people.

We need to get to work now, today!  We have only 9 months until the elections and time flies by very fast.  It’s time to start targeting some issues, setting some specific goals and putting the power of the people, the Tea Party people and the Republicans behind them.

We need a National Referendum put on the ballot in each state this year. We need to change how Congress gets paid.  I believe, since we know Congress will not change how much they get paid or how, the individual states have to vote on it, by putting a referendum on the state ballots.  I’m not sure how it is done, but I sure someone out there in Tea Party land knows.  We can start with the following changes.

1)     No continuous pay checks once they leave office.

2)     They need to be put on Social Security like the rest of us.

3)     If and/or when they pass a Health Care bill it will apply to them also.  No more treatment as though they are Royalty.  They work for us.

 4)     Congress only serves TWO terms and then they are out. This will help limit the amount of corruption within those Congressional walls.

5)     The spouses should be on Social Security now, if they work.

6)    There needs to be a National Campaign to remove Nancy Pelosi.  Yes, I know she is elected by the people in San Francisco, but as Speaker of the House she represents the entire American public, (as she puts it “the Astro Turf”) and it’s time we did something about her.  She needs to be put out to pasture.  I believe it’s time to have her recalled, and it will take a National Campaign to persuade those in California that she’s not worth their vote. Actually, I believe California wants our help with their economic mess.  Maybe it’s time to make a Deal!

7)     Others that need to be voted out or recalled are Senate Majority Leader, Harry Reid, Charlie Rangel, and Barney Frank and a few more.  Let’s clean house and get rid of everyone who has been there longer than 2 terms.

In his State of the Union address, Obama said he would make “Jobs” the priority this year and then he goes right back to the Health Care bill.  And just for show he’s having a Republican/Democrat meeting Thursday to come up with a bill that will be Bi-Partisan, so he has someone to blame (the Republicans) when the people get mad.  He announces an $85 Billion Jobs bill then Sen. Reid cuts $70 Billion out of it.  Now, our JOBS bill will be $15 Billion.  What’s with these morons?   Nothing like trying to keep the people under their thumbs.

Congress needs to be put on the same Health Care program that they so graciously pass for us. These very disgustingly poor examples for Human beings, much less Americans, deserve to be run out of town, with no benefits at all. Congress has done nothing but waste a whole year working (supposedly) on a bill the majority of Americans don’t want, instead of spending that time working on a plan for jobs for unemployed Americans.

Congress serves at our will, not theirs, something they seem to forget as soon as the win another term.  Enough is Enough!

These people, especially this Congress, starting with Nancy Pelosi, are condescending in the way they speak to or about their constituents, they are rude and self-absorbed. They refuse to listen to their constituents when they say “NO” to a bill they are working on. The Health Care bill is an example, something like 70% of Americans do not want the Health Care bill Congress has been fervently working on, and they have yet to listen.

Duh!  They work for u s.  We’re the bosses! Let’s start acting like it.

This Congress just wasted 1 year, working on a Health Care bill that the people they are supposed to be helping by passing the bill, cannot afford to pay the monthly payments on because they are out of work. Congress hasn’t listened, but has instead said, “Hey, if you don’t pay then you will be fined”. I mean this really makes sense, doesn’t it? The fact that many Americans have no job doesn’t even matter. Of course, I have heard that if they don’t pay the fine they are sentenced to a term in jail.  Funny thing because jail is where they will at least get food, shelter, and “YES” Health care for free.

Really do you actually think these idiots in Congress deserve the salary they are getting paid now, much less the hefty amounts they reap when they retire? I don’t. In fact, just writing this is making me sick.

This Congress has yet to earn what they have been paid this past year. And I truly hope, with all my heart, that we pay them the bonus they deserve for all their hard work, by not re-electing them.

Martyr? Joe Stack (1956-2010)

February 19, 2010

                                      Martyr?  Joe Stack (1956-2010)

Sadly, this morning an American, I believe unemployed, just couldn’t take it any longer.    I only know what I have seen on TV news and read on the Internet, and it isn’t pretty.

Joe Stack, not a terrorist, not a radical, just a plain everyday American gave up on life; as we are all beginning to know it, in America.

Joe Stack just snapped.    He flew a plane into a building in Austin, Texas, where the IRS just happened to be a tenant.  Was this his plan?  I think so.   Certainly, I don’t know all the facts, but according to a suicide letter he left, he blamed the Government, the IRS, Congress and yes, even the American people for not standing up and doing something sooner about the near depression like condition we as a country are now finding ourselves in.

He chronologically told us about his financial and other problems he had tried to, in his opinion, legally handle.  His problems spanned a period of more than 20 years.  To me, it seems someone close to him should have been able to see that this man was living on the edge.  Yet, how would anyone of us really know if someone close to us were planning on suicide unless they told us?  Evidently, Joe thought he gave it a good fight, and just decided to die and take as many Americans that he could with him.  No one has that right, not even in America.

Is DEATH the solution, I don’t think so?  Murder, no way.  Is Joe Stack a Martyr?  NO!  He was just a man, too tired to continue fighting  what has become a corrupt system,  too distraught to go on and he selfishly wanted others to suffer as much as he had suffered.  No matter how bad things are, there is always a way out, but Joe chose the wrong way, and others could have died.

America is,  I believe, the only country in the world where the DNA of it’s people includes “If there’s the will, there’s a way”.   No one, not even the elitists in Washington can nor will take our Freedom from us.  They may come close, but Americans have woke up, and we will not give up our country to any foreign power, to any Congress that tries to pull it out from under us, to any Government agency nor to any radical group.  Too bad Joe forgot that  Americans don’t give up.   Americans will not give up until the country is back on its feet again.

Why do so many people from around the world risk life and limb to get into this country?  It is because of the stamina, and the will of America’s people to survive and keep freedom alive.   When Americans get pushed into a corner they always come out fighting.  It’s too bad Joe Stack couldn’t hold on any longer.

Things are beginning to change, slowly yes, but we always bounce back.  It would have been nice if Joe could have been here to see what lengths Americans will go to to make things right.  If only!

Each of us have a different threshold for pain.  He had reached his.  What he did was wrong.  What he did was try and destroy other people, and indirectly their families and friends, and why?  Because,  though he tried, things didn’t turn out the way he wanted them to.   Well, even in America things don’t always go as planned.    And boy, don’t we know it.   But, when  our plans don’t work out we Americans do as we have always  done; we come up with a different  plan.   And then we go on!
