Americans Must Show Their ID Everyday

On Sun, 9/5/10,  Pat Christensen  wrote the following email.  I decided it was good enough to pass on, but I’m not an expert at implementing computer functions, so instead of copying and pasting, I had to re-write it to put in on my blog.   I hope it helps those who are against the Arizona Immigration Bill reconsider their stance on it.  

I’m a Legal American Citizen and I must show my ID when: 

1. Pulled over by the Police.
2. Making purchases on my Department Store Credit Card.
3. When I show up for a Doctor appointment.
4. When filling out a Credit Card or Loan application.
5. When applying for or renewing a Drivers License or Passport.
6. When applying for any kind of Insurance.
7. When filling out a College application.
8. When donating Blood.
9. When obtaining certain Prescription Drugs.
10. When making some Debit purchases, especially when I’m out of state.
11. When collecting a Boarding Pass for Airline or Train Travel.

 I’m sure that there are more instances, but the point is, that we Citizens of the USA are required to prove who we are almost everyday.

 Why should people in our country Illegally be exempt?????

 So, why shouldn’t we guard our borders as closely as every other country in the World?  ss

Will Obama, Step Up And Secure the Borders?

I have been watching Cable news for the last few days and am quite upset with what is going on in response to the new Arizona Immigration law.   Obama preempted Arizona Governor Jan Brewer’s scheduled press conference last week, where she was going to announce her decision to sign the new Immigration bill into law.  In his speech, at a naturalization ceremony for 24 members of the military, Obama made the following statement about the Governors decision to sign the Immigration bill, “Our failure to act responsible at the federal level will only open the door to irresponsibility by others. That includes, for example, the recent efforts in Arizona, which threatens to undermine basic notions of fairness that we cherish as Americans, as well as the trust between police and their communities that is so crucial to keeping us safe”. 

I cannot tell you how upset this President has made me.  Then I think who am I, that he should even care what I think?  My answer, to myself, surprised even me.

I’m a Patriotic American citizen, President Obama is supposed to “REPRESENT” me.  He is supposed to “PROTECT” me, as an American citizen.  He is supposed to be “HONEST” with me.  He is supposed to “LEAD” the American people.  He is supposed to be “PROUD” to be the Commander and Chief.  But what has he done?

He is more interested in “DIVIDING” than he is in “UNITING”.

Obama has been more interested in “REPRESENTING FORIEGNORS” than the people he was elected to represent.  He is more concerned with “PROTECTING” the rights of Illegals, than he is at protecting the LIVES of Americans.  He is more interested in “LEADING” the Global community than in Leading Americans according to the Constitution.  He is more “PROUD” of being Black than he is at being part Black and part White, a fact that he could have used to Unite Americans.  He seems to have forgotten that he is both Black and White.

His thinking is Racist, yet he constantly accuses others,  “Whites” of being racist.  He is more interested in driving a wedge between Blacks and Whites than he is in bringing the Country together.  Consider Martin Luther King, Jrs. words  “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”. 

Yet, Obama has, with his comments about the new Arizona Immigration Law, deliberately misled all those who believe in him as a leader.  He has divided the American people.  He has convinced them that the new Immigration Law is Racist, that it involves racial profiling, even though, it plainly states in the Law that no racial profiling will be tolerated, it is prohibited.

He completely avoids mentioning that the new Immigration Law in Arizona was passed to help protect Arizona residents, Hispanic and White, from drug dealers on killing sprees, and from Kidnappings that have been in so many numbers that Arizona is second in the World, only behind Mexico City as the Kidnapping Capitol. 

He has refused to do anything to help these people,  American citizens, White, Black and Hispanic, who are legally here, by continuing to build the Wall, which was started a while back, to help keep the majority of Illegals out of the country.   He refuses to secure the Borders.  Foreignors do not belong here unless they come in legally.  It’s the Law and Obama has no interest in enforcing the Law.   Now, why is that? 

Why would the President of the United States of America not give a damn about protecting the American people?  Maybe some news media person might consider asking that question, that’s if there are any left who actually care about reporting “NEWS”.

Obama has, because he knows that he has the “power of words”,  used those words, to encourage  those, many who are Illegal (and as far as I’m concerned, do not have the right)  to march and protest in our country.  He has welcomed their misconception of what is a right of an American citizen, and what, if any, are the rights of visitors to our country, much less what is the right, IF ANY, of an Illegal alien, in our country. 

I can assure you that Illegals DO NOT have the right to demand that America changes it’s Laws to satisfy their wants and needs. 

No President, no Czar, no Congressman, no Illegal, and no misguided American, can tell me that it is “Illegal” for me to demand, as an American citizen, that the Law of the Country, my country, be enforced and “NOW,”  and if I know anything, I know this;  that it is “My” right to speak out.   ss

Arizona’s New Immigration Law, Good or Bad?

I have been thinking about the new Immigration Law in Arizona and how people are reacting to it.  It’s not pretty.

You may have heard the saying, which is often, used in movies, where one of the characters will say to another, “I’ll have my people call your people”.  Well I think that is just what happened last Friday, April 24, 2010.  I think Obama’s people called the Governor of Arizona, Jan Brewer’s people to find out whether or not she was going to announce the signing of the new Arizona Immigration Bill.  We can pretty much guess what they were told, because just hours before Governor Brewer’s scheduled News Conference, when she was to announce her decision, President Obama made a preemptive move.  He announced his displeasure with the Governor. 

At a naturalization ceremony for 24 members of the military, Obama made the following statement about the Governors decision to sign the Immigration bill, “Our failure to act responsible at the federal level will only open the door to irresponsibility by others.  In my opinion, he as well as admitted that the Federal Government has not done it’s job to protect the citizens of this country and the citizens of Arizona in particular, something that I, as an American, find very irresponsible on the Governments behalf.  Still he calls the Arizona Governor irresponsible.  I don’t think that Governor Brewer has acted irresponsible at all.  She is doing what she has been elected to do, and is paid to do, and that is to protect the citizens of Arizona.  You would think that after 911, the Southern border would be locked up.   

Obama has ignored the fact that Phoenix, Arizona has become the 2^nd worst city in the world for Kidnappings.  Yes, that’s right 2^nd worst in the World and it has become America’s Kidnapping capital.  Yet he neglected to bring this to the attention of the Americans he was speaking to when he chose to blame Governor Brewer for doing her job, and implying that this Bill she signed into Law was a racist, law, when all she’s doing is trying to stop crime in her state. 

Obama said he instructed the Justice Department to “examine the civil rights and other implications” of the new law.  This statement really angered me.  Mr. Obama should have said, “I have asked the Justice Department to look into why the Federal Immigration Laws already on the books have not been enforced”.  He should have told them to start enforcing them immediately, to keep Americans safe from the Illegals who are climbing walls, digging tunnels, transporting drugs or just coming to American to take our jobs.

For the President of the United States to say that the Governor of Arizona is threatening, “to undermine a basic notion of fairness that we cherish as Americans” is ridiculous when he and Congress are more concerned with being fair to Illegal Immigrants, who entered this country illegally than to the citizens who pay their salaries.

We have Janet Napolitano, Secretary of Home Land Security, when asked by Congressman Lindsey Graham the other day, if the Arizona/Mexican border was secure now, replying with, “that’s an unfair question”.  My God, what planet did she come from?  Does this woman even know what her job consists of? 

We have Al Sharpton, saying he’s bringing in outsiders to march in Arizona,  for the Civil Rights of the Immigrants, and Americans of Hispanic descent.  I ask myself, “Why are these people making a genuine effort to divide the people of this country, instead of leading them to a place where they can work together?

I know I’m just an ordinary, Patriotic American, who loves the Freedom she has, and thank God, I’m still allowed to think for myself, because I really see something wrong with this picture, and can’t believe that anyone who looks at what is going on, with an open mind, doesn’t see it too.  

Obama gave as an example on how the law will work, saying; if parents of Hispanic descent decided to take their child out for an ice cream they could be stopped and asked to show their American ID (citizenship papers) and this would be a direct result of Racial profiling.

As I understand the law, people cannot be stopped and asked to prove American citizenship unless there is a suspicion that they have committed a crime, or they get caught in the act, like robbing a store, or stealing a car, or committing any number of crimes.  By the way, when anyone in this country is suspected of committing a crime or has just run a red light, they are stopped and asked for their ID, so this is nothing new.  The law, and the Governor specifically stated that there is to be no racial profiling.

 Let’s say someone of Hispanic descent came to this country through legal channels, applied for citizenship and became a citizen.  He may have had to wait for years before he was allowed to come to the USA, he may have had to do a number of things to be eligible to become a citizen of the USA.  He is more likely than not, happy he is here.  He is now an American citizen.  He should be glad that he lives in a state where the Governor is taking his safety seriously.   His safety and security is now one of the privileges he has as an American Citizen of Hispanic descent.

He should also be directing his anger not towards Governor Brewer but towards those illegals that come into our (his country now, too) everyday.  It is because of them that he may be asked to show his Citizenship papers.   It is because the Illegals committed a CRIME, by coming into the USA, illegally, he may someday be asked to show his proof of citizenship.  It is still a Crime to enter the USA illegally, and it’s time he realizes that the laws are to protect him too.  It’s time for him to act like an American.

Mr. Sharpton if he had any common sense at all, should, if he really wants and needs the press coverage, bring his people to DC and march there.  Why you ask?  Because the Federal Immigration Laws are already on the books, but have not been enforced.  If the Congress or the White House had enforced them, there would have been no need to pass the Arizona Bill.  If Al Sharpton is interested in justice, and not just getting his name and picture on the news, then he needs to go to DC to march on the Capital.

So, here’s the deal, as I see it.  The Arizona Immigration Bill was signed into Law because the Federal Government, again, is not doing its job.  President  Obama readily admits that the Feds have been irresponsible in not doing anything about the Laws already on the books, and he intends to continue down that path.  He down played the seriousness of the situation, (the Kidnapping Capitol of America) but, he has, with carefully chosen words, made race an issue where it was not.  He has started, what I believe will be a long hot summer, filled with Protests and Civil Rights marches.  

All week long I have thought about what he has said and done about this new Law, and all I can think of is Protests and Civil Rights marches, will be used as his new reason to coerce Congress into writing a new Immigration Bill and then pass it fast.  They won’t need to read it, but just vote for it (as usual), before the mid-term election.   And if things get out of hand this summer, well then Obama can impose Marshall Law, with the New National Police force that I have heard about.   Is there one?  I don’t know.  But I have heard about one.  I guess we will have to wait and see.

No one can ever say Americans are a dull people.  Stupid, maybe, but dull?  Definitely not! 

Well these are my thoughts on the subject, but, hey, who am I, but just an ordinary still, free, American.  ss

Amnesty for Illegals, To Protect American Jobs? I don’t Think So!

“Democratic Senator Charles Schumer and Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, are  drafting an overhaul of the nation’s immigration laws. They gave Obama an update on attempts to lay out a path to win bipartisan support for the measure.  Schumer, of New York, and Graham, of South Carolina, are working on a measure that would create a guest-worker program, tighten border security and resolve the status of the estimated 12 million immigrants in the country illegally. They also want the nation to adopt more secure Social Security cards to block undocumented immigrants from getting jobs”.

Now, Obama wants to do a complete overhaul of U.S. Immigration Laws!  Sen. Charles Schumer (D) and Sen. Lindsey Graham  (R )   presented their overhaul version of a bill to the country two weeks ago. 

So, what do I think?

I guess I would have more respect for Congress if they would only do the job that the American people sent them there to do. The idea of a  “new” Immigration Bill that Schumer and Graham have been working on is a good example of what I’m talking about.  We already have laws on the books regarding Immigration, it should be very evident to anyone who can read a newspaper, hear the sound on a radio or TV, or see what is on Cable News or the Internet, that these laws have not been enforced for quite sometime.

When these laws were originally put on the books (Iwas very young then) there was a quota set up for each country, and only so many people per year could come into the US legally, from these countries.  There were other stipulations they had to follow also, before they were approved for entry into the USA and able to apply for citizenship. 

So, what happened?  I’m tired of these Congressmen just picking and choosing what it is that they want to overhaul, totally disregarding the fact that it doesn’t matter what they do.   If no one enforces the laws already on the books, does anyone really think that re-writing them will do any good or change things?  Does anyone think that all of a sudden and magically the new laws will be enforced?   

Why has no one ever investigated, or even brought up in the News Media, after 911 and after we started a War in Iraq, and were scouring the World looking for Osama Bin Laden,  raising the level of alerts on a daily basis (at first) and worried about secret cells entering the US and spending a Billion dollars a month on the Iraq War,  and suffering the loss of American soldiers lives, that we didn’t think that closing up that southern border, was important or relevant?  Why didn’t we not only put up a Wall but have soldiers stationed along it to stop all illegals from entering the US? 

I guess our government thought the terrorists were not smart enough to even think about coming into the USA illegally, over the US/Mexican border.   

These new laws will not be worth the paper they are written on and for a couple of reasons: 

1) Congress doesn’t even read the bills before they vote on them, so they wouldn’t  know  what laws need to be enforced.

2) Even when Congress reads the bills no one follows up after the law is passed to see if the law is being enforced.  So, bottom line,  because the laws are not enforced then companies will still hire Illegals for less money than they would pay Americans or legal immigrants and there will be more Illegals crossing that border and taking what is left of any jobs from Americans.   

Let’s face it; we need to build a wall along the border just to slow the Illegals down and unless I’m mistaken, there was, maybe 2 year or 3 years ago (actually I believe it was under Bush) a Bill passed for I think, $700+  Million dollars to build that wall.  I know part of the wall was built, whether or not that money was used for that, I don’t know.  I want to know if it was, if its all used up, or if they never funded the project, and if not, why?  

Our Home Land Security, instead of completing the wall (which would constitute changing the purpose of the funding that Congress voted for building that wall) along the southern border to keep Illegals out, decided that putting up camera’s which,  might I add, cost a lot of money, would actually stop the Illegals from coming across the border.  I wonder if Home Land Security has the authority to change the purpose of the funding? 

In reality, it did nothing to stop the Illegals from crossing into the US, but it has allowed us to watch on Cable New, stories about  the  Illegals, seen  on video,  filmed using  Night Vision lenses, sneaking into our country in the dead of night.  It is more like watching a Reality TV show than doing what it was supposed to do,  which is keeping our country safe and secure . 

Now, they want to use drones to watch the Illegals cross the border, maybe using the drones gives the News Media better reception, (this is sarcasm here, in case you didn’t guess it). For a country that needs jobs for its citizens, I’m amazed at how many programs our out-of-touch Congress and Administration come up with that actually put people, Americans,  out of work.   Cameras along the Border means less Border Patrol Officers to basically patrol the border.  Instead, camera’s  need maybe one guy to watch the Illegals cross the border on  multiple  computer screens and  when he sees something suspicious he calls some Border Patrol car to go and check it out. 

The fact that the car may be 20 miles or more away from where the Illegals are crossing doesn’t even enter the minds of the idiots that come up with these ideas.   By the time the Border Patrol gets to the destination where the Illegals were seen crossing, the Illegals are long gone, and probably sitting in some restaurant,  at some truck stop in Arizona,  eating breakfast.  I mean really these camera’s were probably a no-bid payoff  to some big Congressional campaign contributor. 

How do camera’s stop Illegals from entering the country?  Simple, they don’t!   So, where is the common sense?  I would say that an 8 year old could  come  up with the right solution here to correct the situation, like a WALL?  After we build a wall, we need some kind of equipment (and I know we have it) to scan the ground along the border in order to find the tunnels that the drug lords have dug out, so they can bring Illegal Drugs and Illegal Immigrants into the US, and destroy them.

It’s all about “POWER”, and the more you have the more you want.  And it’s about  “MONEY” and how it buys you that Power.  The more Money you have the more people you can buy to do your bidding, for the Drug Lords, Money buys them drug dealers, drug runners and people who will dig underground tunnels and it will pay for the Mexican law enforcement to look the other way.  As for Congress,  Money buys  votes, just ask any crooked Congressman (there are a few in Congress).   It buys  Votes to put people in office who will then do the bidding of their benefactors and thus enable them to have more Power.  It will buy Votes to pass bills giving the campaign donor, possibly a no-bid contract, etc., etc.  I know you get the idea.  Bottom-line,  it’ always about Money and Power.  

So, this new revamping of the Immigration Laws, is in my opinion, being targeted as the next BIG Bill we need to pass,  for a couple of reasons: 

1)     Congress and the White House said that no Illegals would be covered by the Health Care Bill.  Give the (they say 12 Million), I say close to 20 Million Illegals, Amnesty and they can get Health Care coverage (isn’t that what Congress wanted all along ?) and then we won’t be covering Illegals, will we?  Then comes the chance for them to vote.  This is just a guess, but I would say that the majority of the Illegals are Mexican, Catholic, uneducated (easily swayed by a smooth telepromter reader) more likely than not, when allowed to vote, will vote Democratic, (The party that keeps on giving and giving,  everything away for free to the poor and/or unproductive and uneducated). 

2)    This will put at least 20 Million more people above the 30 Million people the Democrats say will already be covered by the Health Care Bill onto the roster.  Well, 20 Million  more people, create the demand for more service and products  from  the Pharma’s, Hospitals, Medical Equipment Companies, and a need for more Medical workers on the payroll (just remember these new Medical jobs will be at the lower end of the pay scale, you know the jobs that entail cleaning up other people messes).  Do realize since this new group of Illegals given Amnesty,  will also increase the amount of money we well need to pay for the Health Care Program (Oh no, they told us $1.6 Trillion would be enough)  more than the original $1.6 Trillion, and additional taxes and more money will be taken away from Medicare and Medicaid (the Congressional plan all along)  until they are completely eliminated.   Also, remember that before the Health Care Bill vote,  53% of the Medical Practitioners (MD’s)  said they would quit if the Bill passed, because they didn’t make enough money before the Bill as it is, but if the Bill passed and the government gets their hands on running everything they would make much less.  So with less Doctors we will have rationed Health Care, just like the Tea Party people have been saying, and the Democrats have been lying about.  Come on America, even a 5th grader can follow this line of thinking here. 

3)    So, will these new citizens be working and paying taxes?  Well, they won’t be making more than $250,000, and remember Obama said people making less than $250,000 will not pay additional taxes.   Or will these people be sending that extra cash back to Mexico,  to older family members ( Well, at least there will be lot’s of stimulus money for the Mexican economy)?  And then on our side of the border all these Amnesty recipients can take advantage of government handouts in the USA (free health care, food stamps, Hud  housing and free education etc.)?  Isn’t that what America is all about, give, give give?

4)   Oh, and remember that we moved the Census Bureau into the White House this year so Obama and his Czars can make sure that the Amnesty Program (Whoops!  I mean Census Program) does what it was intended to do, which is to make sure that all those new Americans will be properly represented in Congress thru changes made in the voting districts which will truly benefit the Democrats (you remember,  the Party that keeps on giving)?

Well, Gee, I think I know why Schumer, Graham and the White House want to overhaul Immigration.  It certainly isn’t some BS about how they want to create and protect more jobs for Americans.  And this new National ID?  Do you really think this will be used to make sure Illegals aren’t given jobs by American companys or is it just another way for our Government to keep track of what Americans do on a daily basis?  You know what I’m talking about, “Big Brother”.  Inquiring minds want to know.
